Rating: 10/10

After Oliver tries to threaten information out of his mother in the guise of the Hood, his plan backfires as his mom manages to shoot him in the shoulder. Oliver must reveal his identity to Felicity Smoak in order to get him to safety. On the island, Slade begins training Oliver to help him on a mission to get off the island.

I kind of got my wish in that this episode focuses mostly on Oliver’s memories on the island. In the present, the story focuses mostly on John Diggle introducing Felicity into the lifestyle of the vigilante while also trying to save Oliver’s life.

In the past the full episode is action packed as we slowly watch before our eyes as Oliver starts his journey into becoming the ruthless vigilante he is in the present. It’s as intense as it is entertaining. Also I like how even though we know Oliver will survive, the show plays it like his life is just as in danger as anyone else. And really, we watch what it takes to truly be a survivor, and what horrible things you might have to do in the process.

SCORING:

+10: Another great episode, now my wish is the rest of the season is just Oliver on the island. Can that one happen?
