The Undertaking is quickly approaching, and Moira Queen wants out. Meanwhile, a jewel thief who likes using bomb collars is on the loose in Starling City. While that’s happening, Thea gets robbed. Also Oliver and Diggle go on dates! On the island, Oliver has to find an herb to help save Slade’s life.

Okay, this might just be because of how action-packed and entertaining the last few episodes were, but this outing into the Arrowverse was, frankly, just plain boring. Okay, there was some pretty cool motorcycle stunts, and I liked the short side story involving Thea and Roy Harper, but everything else just felt kind of flat to me.

The villain of Dodger could have been really interesting, but he’s just as stale as the rest of the episode. I think they were going for some kind of mastermind like Lex Luthor, but being that he’s just a jewel thief and doesn’t seem to care much about anything except stealing, he just comes off as spoiled rich kid with an English accent. He should have been caught by the Hood the first time they met each other. The fact that so much of his plan comes to pass is a bit ridiculous as well. Maybe if John and Oliver weren’t too busy trying to get dates all of a sudden…

SCORING:

+4: Filler episode that feels like a filler episode

+1: the Thea and Roy storyline was interesting

+0.5: Cool, though short, motorcycle stunts

-1: the villain is such a throwaway, Moira is more evil in this episode and she only has a few lines at the end…
