Oliver, Diggle, and Felicity are doing their best to find Walter a mob boss who owns an illegal gambling rings. Meanwhile, plans for the Undertaking are underway just as we flashback to how the Undertaking all began.
Again, it’s like the writers of the past are hearing at least part of my complaints. As I just said for the last episode I wouldn’t mind not cutting to the island when nothing is really happening there. So instead of that we cut to the beginnings of Malcolm’s shadowy cabal. Which is interesting, and it’s nice to see Oliver’s dad in a context that isn’t him dying on a boat or already being dead on an island.
Oh, Tommy reveals why Laurel shouldn’t be with him. It’s because “Oliver is still in love with her.” Since when does any man care about this? Wait, maybe he’s scared that Oliver will kill him if he doesn’t? That actually seems kind of plausible. Hmm…
This episode was pretty good, it had some action but the emphasis was more on drama. And for once it wasn’t melodrama.
SCORING:
+9: Never boring
-1: What the hell, Tommy?
