Frozen (2013)

Rating: 7.5/10

Based on a classic tale, Queen Elsa accidentally curses her kingdom into an eternal winter and it’s up to her sister Anna to save her from herself. This is a fun film, and the first feature-length, animated Disney film directed by a woman. Which at 2013, is pretty late, all things considered, but I’m glad it happened eventually.

This was a good flick, but nothing you wouldn’t expect from a Disney Princess film, but I did enjoy the comedy. I think it does very good visual and well-written comedy all in the same film.

I was a bit underwhelmed by the music though, and then discovered it was all written in one day. It’s okay, and it fits the film, but considering the rest of this movie took at least 2 and half years to make, I guess they had to rush the score? Doesn’t make sense…

SCORING:

+7.5: Very enjoyable kids movie

+1: Good comedy

-1: Songs could’ve been better, I swear I heard them rhyme “door” with “more” at least once per song…
