After Roy turns himself in for being the Arrow, a metahuman who can explode people with his laser eyes attacks Star City. Also, Captain Lance’s investigation into Oliver is taking desperate measures as evidence against Roy doesn’t deter him from finding who he believes the real Arrow to be. I mean, it’s not like he’s wrong…
Anyway, this was a pretty good episode. Lots of great action, one of the best martial arts scenes I’ve seen in this series when Roy fights a group of men in prison while he’s handcuffed but no one else is. And some pretty great intensity as well when Felicity is put into harm’s way later in the episode.
A couple things to fault this episode for, one, is that things can be a little over dramatic on this show sometimes, and at this point I’ve basically accepted it, but sometimes it just seems a bit more fake than usual. For two, when Oliver is playing Ray like he’s a video game just seemed gimmick-y and a bit out of place in what is mostly a serious show.
SCORING:
+9: Pretty great episode
+1: Some of the best action in the series
-1: drama just feels fake sometimes, I guess
-1: Were they trying to spin off an Atom video game or something?
