After revealing too much in an interview with Cat Grant, Kara’s on damage control with her boss. Also, a dangerous man in a mechanical suit named Reactron is trying to kill Supergirl in order to make Superman sad.
Okay, this has been a problem for every episode so far, but we get that Supergirl is Superman’s cousin. Outside of the opening I feel it’s not really worth mentioning, but so far it seems like this show is more about Superman than Supergirl, which is mind boggling because Superman has yet to actually be on this show. Make the show about your title character, Superman’s great, but I think making this show about him as much as Supergirl just makes it seem like their just trying to ride through on his coattails (or cape in this case).
The action and drama were both decent in this one, but I don’t think the writer’s fully understand Kara’s powers. I mean, they’re the exact same as Superman, there’s no reason something would harm her and not Superman, unless she was either out of the sun for a long time (they get their powers from our yellow sun) or given Kryptonite in some shape or form. Since neither is the case it’s just contrived nonsense.
SCORING:
+5: sigh…
-1: Too much Superman on a show without Superman…
-1: Poorly written plot points, don’t just make things up, superpowers follow logical rules even if they are just works of fantasy
