Rating: 7/10
After a daring escape, Agent Carter moves to take Whitney down once and for all. Meanwhile, Whitney tries to convince Jason to decide to use his powers for evil as we work into an explosive ending.
I really like the musical number at the beginning with things being a little meta. I like that they’re using more genres of the time period and maybe paying a little homage to The Wizard of Oz while they do so. I also really enjoyed the gangster-movie feel of the rest of the episode, along with things maybe getting a little tense between Peggy and Jarvis as she confronts him about the consequences of his revenge-seeking actions.
What I felt didn’t work for the episode was about twenty minutes where things kind of drag up until the ending. I hope these scenes filled with repetitive dialogue was more for those just joining the series with this episode for what’s gearing up to be a climactic series finale. I can only hope that’s the case anyway.
SCORING:
+8: Pretty great opening and I like the gangster tropes
-1: Kind of drags in the second half
