After people are being seemingly murdered by a metahuman, Coulson and the team go to investigate. But when it turns out it’s actually an alien virus, one of the team might be infected.
This was the first episode that was really good. I felt that it started out well with getting a case right away and not focusing on the team members was a good move. Then it really surprised when they switched focus to something purely about the team and make me like all the characters in their own way. So, I guess it got there eventually but here’s that character-focused episode that probably should have been the second in the series instead of the sixth (or something like it anyway).
It seems like this show is switching into the “who’s going to bang who” mode, which isn’t terrible but I still don’t think any of these characters, though I am warming up to them, have enough for me to care about who they’re having sex with.
SCORING:
+10: A surprisingly good episode considering they did a few things I didn’t like about the show previously
-1: I feel like I do about Mulder and Scully, they grow into good friends and partners without ever having sex in the course of their show, and that’s totally fine. It’s not needed for the X-Files. Everyone in Shield could be asexual and I don’t think it would change anything about my opinion of the program at this point.
