Fitz-Simmons goes back to school in search of someone who’s invented a bomb that freezes everything it touches. Meanwhile, May and Coulson are searching for clues into Skye’s past.
This show does seem to be coming into its own, so that’s good. It’s nice to see something slowly improve as the series continues. Nothing that makes up for the first 10 episodes or so but the series is still young. I guess we’ll see what happens in the next episode. Still, another one-shot, but develops the characters nicely in this one, and the freeze bombs were neat as a supervillain “power.”
The only thing I felt brought this episode down was a long winded speech that Coulson goes on towards the end of the episode. It feels like they’re just stirring up melodrama again for the sake of it, except instead of melodrama it’s supposed to be one of those uplifting speeches people do, except it just feels fake. Also, he’s talking about something that Skye says to him, and it seems like it would have been better just showing the scene where Skye says it instead of him explaining it after the fact.
+10: Very entertaining one-shot episode
-1: End speech doesn’t feel real
