Rating: 8/10

Garrett is mad with power after being injected with the alien healing serum. May is out for blood as she confronts Ward for his betrayal. And Nick Fury is back to help everyone save the day.

A very good ending to the first season, this had everything I hoped it would, lots of action, tons of drama as everything comes to a head. And the future of Shield is maybe a little clearer, even though Hydra ripped it completely apart. I did enjoy this one quite a bit.

The only problem I had was that it climaxed too soon and left the last 15 minutes of wrap up, which is waaaay too much time for a denouement. That would be like if Luke killed the Emperor 2/3 of the way through The Return of the Jedi and the last hour of the movie was about the Ewoks setting up for that party at the end. This is too long for such a thing, no matter what you have to say, it makes the denouement become the driving force for the episode and weakens what would have otherwise been a great climax.

+9: Very good

-1: The denoument should never, ever be a third the length of everything else, it’s usually just the last 5-10 minutes in a 2 hour movie, should be about the same ratio for a 40 minute TV show
