Daredevil fights a member of the hand, but learns he might be outmatched as he doesn’t seem to be able to hear their heartbeat. Meanwhile, tensions mount with Fisk as he confronts the Devil of Hell’s Kitchen head on.
Very slow paced at the beginning, but that seems forgivable considering that it’s well-deserved considering how tense the last few episodes were. Still, I think this show overdoes the everyone stand in one place and talk to each other motiff a bit too much, especially in this episode. Maybe I’m just bitter after sitting through a few mediocre shows already.
Anyway, this is a pretty good episode, but definitely one with a slow ramp up to some really great moments later. It feels like the end of a second act in a movie in that things are at their absolute worst for the hero, and it’s unsure if he’ll be able to keep both his lawyer life and superhero life seperated for much longer.
+10: Another great episode
-1: I might just be bitter but “show, don’t tell” comes to mind for the first quarter of the episode
