Wilson Fisk deals with the death of his best friend while Rebecca is recovering from poisoning. Meanwhile, the reporter, Ben Urich, tries to get to the bottom of Fisk’s story. Foggy and Matt deal with the aftermath of their broken friendship, and Karen deals with the aftermath of murder.
If this were a movie, this would be the time before the climax when everything is at their darkest for our heroes, and I think this works in that way. It also works in that tension is indeed rising as Fisk’s final plan comes to fruition as the stage is set for whatever comes next. I have to say that I really like the actress playing Madam Gao again, even though all the villains in Fisk’s shadowy Cabal is acted very well, I think she has a personality all her own that makes her stand out as the woman who is very reserved, wise, and dangerous.
I want to complain about the length of this episode but I would be wrong as it had a very good, though slow, pace. And seems to match what I’m assuming is a large amount of violence approaching, some of which comes out in this episode. This are getting intense.
+10: A great build up for what’s to come (hopefully they don’t blow it)
